We have sadly lost our cremello filly, Red Rose Pearl, to a tragic pasture accident January 5, 2012. She was a beautiful filly, so full of life and loved everyone, equine and human. Pearl was special and loved by all. Now she's an angel in heaven, and we are blessed to have had Pearl touch our hearts while she was here. Rest in peace my friend 2009-2012

Rafter Bar D Morgans is adding color to the herd!
Morgans do come in exotic colors!! In efforts to produce quality buckskins and palominos along with our blacks we have added an exquisite double dilute cremello filly to our mare herd. Red Rose Pearl is a 2009 filly with excellent Morgan type, a gorgeous head and a great disposition. She has the substance, yet refinement we look for in our mares to produce foals of outstanding quality. Pearl is a welcome addition to our herd and we look forward to foals from her in the future. We welcome our new Black Homozygous Morgan Stallion!!

JMF True North
In October 2010 we acquired JMF True North from A & E Morgan Farm in Ohio. We give many thanks to Alvin Beachy and family for offering us such an exceptional stallion. They have owned him for 8 years where he was at stud and the ride of choice for thier son, Eli, who trained him under saddle, rode him on trail rides and overnight camped with him. Alvin also used him under harness where he was driven to town retrieving goods for the family or enjoying a countryside ride visiting neighbors. North was an icon in their community siring many foals mostly black, and he produced a higher percentage of fillies. He produces exceptional offspring with solid bone, great type, good minds, powerful movement with the abiltiy to excel in driving and riding. We look forward to crossing him with some of our mares in the spring to produce exceptional foals in the future. Thank you again, Alvin, for your hospitality and friendship. Visit North at his page.

RBD Black Maverick will be moving to Puerto Rico in October 2010!
George, from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, is the new proud owner of Maverick. George has been raising Paso Fino's and Pinto's for 35 years and has always dreamed of having a morgan. He says he's been unable to find any morgans in Puerto Rico, so in search of a morgan he found us. I did find out from AMHA that there are very few morgans in Puerto Rico.
He is captivated by our stallion, JMF Basic Black, and fell in love with Maverick. George is the president of a 8 day agricultural fair in Puerto Rico that attracts more than 150,000 people. Next year, RBD Black Maverick will represent the morgan breed at that fair.
We will be transporting Maverick to Ocala, Florida, where we will put him on a plane and he will fly to Puerto Rico. The flight is 3 hours to his new home. We are honored to have Maverick abroad sharing all the wonderful morgan traits with many people. We hope to visit them some day in the future. We give special thanks to George and his family for his interest in our morgans and for this exciting new home for Maverick.
Visitors from Vermont!
Taylor, who is 11 years old, just visited our farm with her family all the way from Vermont. Taylor has been riding and schooling English equitation with a trainer for 6 years and she loves jumping. In the summer she rides 5 days a week. She was at the Knickerbocker Mansion Benefit horse show in South Cambridge, New York this summer, and she took Reserve Grand Champion.
.
Taylor’s passion for horses goes beyond the barn. This year, in 5th grade, she had a school project called a Voice Thread. She chose to do her project on our stallion, JMF Basic Black. She was very excited to meet him in person at our farm. Basic Black really enjoyed attention from Taylor. Taylor pictured above with JMF Basic Black and his son RBD Black Maverick.
.
During her visit, she rode one of our mares, Bradford’s Countess Echo. She’s a very good rider! She also had the opportunity to spend some time with RBD Black Maverick, our foal from this year, and the rest of our herd. Taylor hopes to have her own horse in the future. I told her dad to come back next year with a trailer.
We really enjoyed visiting with Taylor and her family, and look forward to seeing them again in the future.

You know sometimes when you're really not looking for a morgan, but one seems to find you. Well, in short, JMF Wild Irish Rose found us all the way from Vermont. We send thanks to Margaret and Walter Gladstone for sharing such a nice mare. Irish is a full sister to our Layla (JMF Wild Side), and from the day Layla arrived at our farm I had hoped to some day find another mare like her. Irish is proving to be everything we hoped for. See more of this gorgeous mare at her page. JMF Wild Irish Rose
Our trip to Theodore Roosevelt Park in Medora, North Dakota September 2009.
We had a great trip riding out west with our good friends at Diamond Q Morgans. The scenery was beautiful, the weather was great, the horses did very well, and the company was fun.
